My Little Baby!!!

This is Slipper!

She was 11 weeks old on Saturday and she's a British Giant, Continental Giant cross which means when she finally stops growing she is going to be huge!

She's been living with us for 5 weeks now and seems to be happy with us. She has free run of the kitchen and bathroom and is let into the rest of the house with supervision (we haven't rabbit proofed the entire house yet!).

Never let my mother loose with the children!! Part 2

Today we have a new problem!!

I've just had a phone call from my mother telling me that the bag with the children's clothes in hasn't turned up and won't be there until tonight. Can I have a word with eldest small boy to try and calm him down because he's in a foul mood and wants to go home. Its really hot and he's only got a sweatshirt to wear. She's offered to go and buy him something but that's not good enough for him!!

I've tried to calm him down, as much as I can over the phone, but I'm not sure it worked. Just hope he cheers up when he gets his clothes back!

A Week of Peace!?!?

Or: Never let my mother loose with the children!!

After trying to book a holiday for the beginning of the holidays without any success my mother managed to book 9 days in spain flying out this morning.

So we spend all day yesterday running round shops in a panic because one of the boys needs trainers and another needs shorts and as usual everything is left to the last minute!!

Eventually I leave my mother frantically washing, packing and booking cars and look forward to a nice quiet week with just the two of us doing things we never get a chance to do.

Hah! I get a call this morning saying that at the airport they were put into the wrong queue and missed their flight. They were put on standby and she would keep us informed. Eventually my father and the eldest small boy got put onto a flight with my mother and youngest small boy still waiting. Two hours later they were put on a flight and i was asked to try and get a message to my father to let him know what was going on............ BA were absolutely no help whatsoever!! I even tried phoning the airport in Spain direct but all I got was somebody who spent 10 minutes saying "hello"............... So in the end I had to give up! Don't know if they managed to meet up or if they made it to their appartment or anything!

I guess they must have or I would have had more panicked calls from them!

We found a railway!!!

Well we found what used to be a railway.

Apparantly there was a railway running from Fratton Station down to a station in Granada Road called East Southsea. It was opened in 1885 and ran for 29 years. It ran right past our back garden! If you look at Google Earth you can still see the scar left by it.

We're going to go to the record office and try and get some more information about it and hopefully some pictures of the stations. The terminus in Granada Road was of Queen Anne style and had three platforms each 360ft long so it must have looked impressive!

I'm not doing that again in a hurry!!

On Tuesday we finally started painting the hall!!!

Drizz, his mate and I went and got all the paint in the afternoon and I said when they'd finished for the day I'd take them down to Trevor's dads pub and buy them a couple of pints each for doing it.

The four of us (Trevor, Drizz, the mate and I) stayed in the pub until about 11.30. The bar manager was very keen to get us out as blokes were arriving by taxi and he was being very cagey and telling them to be quiet while motioning in our direction. Methinks the man is up to no good!!

Anyway when we left Drizz and the mate decided they'd not had enough to drink so Trevor dropped the three of us off in Guildhall Walk. Drizz had forgotten his passport so we eventually ended up in a nightclub called Flares.

What a dreadful, dreadful place!! It must have been made far worse by the fact that I was sober but then I don't really drink. Mind you Drizz was pretty drunk by the time we got there and he wasn't impressed either. Too many slimey drunk blokes who think they're gods gift and even more drunk middle aged women in tiny skirts lapping up all the attention from the sleazeballs! I must be getting too old for it all........... or not old enough!!!! Somehow I managed to stay there until about 12.45 by which time I was so bored I phoned Trevor to come and get me. Waited outside for him for a good 30 minutes listening to an argument between a drunk swaying woman and the bloke on the door who wasn't going to let her in despite her efforts to convince him she was sober!

When Trevor turned up we drove back down past the pub and even thought it was just after 1.30am the lights out the back were still on. I hope the bar manager had a better night than I did cos by the sounds of it he won't be having many more!!

A Really Crappy Barbecue!!

On Saturday we went to a barbecue at one of the other halfs workmates friends houses. His workmate is moving to Australia this week so this was really a chance to say goodbye and take some bubblewrap to him so he could wrap his laptop and stuff securely to go into the hold of the aeroplane.

I didn't really know anyone there and nobody said a word to me apart from the other halfs (other half will be refered to from now on as Trevor!) boss. Didn't get offered a drink and there was no food. To top it all off there were loads of people handing round joints!

I was sooooo bored that we only stayed about an hour before leaving. Bought some dinner on the way home, ate food and got stoned in the comfort of my own home!

I'm trying to think of a good excuse now to get out of the works christmas do!!

More rambling......

There are very few sites out there that sell plus size PVC clothing. There are a couple of sellers selling very basic designs on ebay but nothing really that impressed me. I've bought a few things from LadyBWear and the service is really good. Quite a bit of choice and in sizes 6 to 36. Trouble is not everything is in stock in every size so its sort of hit and miss as to whether they'll have your size. Their made 2 measure range is great but they can be a bit pricey. I really want the killafrock or the pixie but at £195 and £175 I may have to wait!

Another good site I found was Cathouse Clothing. They have a largish range that goes up to a size 30. Not bought anything from them yet, apart from a crop! They also have an ebay store and the delivery is pretty quick on the toys, not sure about the clothing. It is a fun site to look round though!

So anyway I sort of made a decision. I've been thinking for a while about it but now I think its something I definitely want to do. I want to design and make my own range of plus size PVC clothing. I found a dressmakers dummy that goes from a size 22 to a size 30 and I'm thinking of asking for it for my birthday. I've found fabric and haberdashery suppliers online so I'd better start coming up with some designs!
